Co-firing is the efforts to reduce use of fossil fuel (coal) form steam power plant. Adding biomass as a partial boiler coal consumption thereby reducing carbon dioxide emissions which can have an impact on greenhouse effect. This co-firing study implemented 5-20% palm kernel shells. The emission has decreased very significantly in by 20%, Carbon (CO2) from 7% 0.9% and monoxide (CO) 759 Mg/Nm3 105 Mg/Nm3. Slagging index during still within safe limits. Fouling when firing co-firings 5%, 15% 20% are high category, while 10% severe category. Base acid ratio test high/severe potential for corrosion due presence chlorine Cl-induced active oxidation minor. toxic properties samples obtained various condition meet quality standards.
